Join the Thornton Police Department’s Silver Stars Citizens Police Academy!

Designed for community members ages 55 and older, this program offers a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement and helps participants better understand the daily responsibilities and challenges faced by police officers. The academy also provides valuable information on life and health planning, along with practical tips to help prevent property crimes and stay safe in the community.

The academy meets once a week for six weeks from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Thornton Active Adult Center located at 11181 Colorado Boulevard.

Eligibility Requirements


Must be 55+

Must be able to participate in a majority of the classes.

Preference will be given to City of Thornton residents and business owners.
