The Thornton Police Department uses a third-party vendor, LEXIS NEXIS – Community Crime Map, to provide maps of select crime categories.

Disclaimer: The LEXIS NEXIS Community Crime Map compiles crime data through automated processes that may contain errors. No party makes any warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of the data. The map displays selected crime incidents from our jurisdiction and may not reflect all reported crimes. Each law enforcement agency determines which types of crimes are shown, and data availability can vary by jurisdiction. Users can view data from other jurisdictions on the map, but such data is subject to the display policies of the respective agencies. The public is strongly cautioned not to rely on this information for decision-making or for taking, or refraining from, any actions.

The following types of incidents are specifically excluded from the information on the Community Crime Map in Thornton's jurisdiction:

  • Information associated to an open case

  • Mental health holds

  • Medical calls

  • Any case that has been administratively locked or judicially sealed
