See Something, Say Something
The See Something, Say Something initiative encourages everyone in our community to help support public safety by staying aware of their surroundings and reporting suspicious or criminal activity when they see it.
Unlike traditional Community Watch programs, which may require regular meetings and ongoing neighborhood coordination, this approach makes it easy for everyone to participate as part of their everyday lives. You don’t have to attend meetings or be part of a formal group to make a difference.
Through education, communication, and technology, the Thornton Police Department is working to build a community where residents and law enforcement work together to promote safety, awareness, and shared responsibility.
How We’ll Connect With the Community
The campaign will use:
-
Community outreach: Information at schools, libraries, businesses, community centers, events, and other public spaces.
-
Social media and digital tools: Safety tips, reminders, videos, and community information.
-
Education: Workshops and examples to help residents understand what to report and when to call 911 or the non-emergency line.
-
Easy reporting: Clear information about how and where to report emergencies, suspicious activity, and other concerns.
How You Can Help
You don't need to join a formal program or attend meetings to make a difference.
Stay aware. Trust your instincts. Report what you see.
-
Call 911 for emergencies or crimes in progress.
-
Use the non-emergency line for non-urgent concerns or suspicious activity.
-
Use available online reporting options when appropriate.
Do not put yourself at risk or confront someone you believe may be involved in criminal activity.
Building a Safer Thornton Together
The See Something, Say Something initiative gives every resident an opportunity to contribute to public safety. By staying aware, sharing information, and communicating with TPD, our community can work together to help prevent crime and keep Thornton safe.
No membership required. Just awareness, observation, and action.
